When the routine suit-and-tie combination became mundane for ex-attorney Michael Andrews, he turned his attention to finding something more exciting. But when a number of tailors failed to rise to that challenge, Andrews took it upon himself to remedy his situation. Courses at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology armed Andrews with an education in tailoring and design, and soon he was launching his own tailor shop to much acclaim from national menswear publications.
This season he brings his luxurious textures and colorful details to our nation’s capital with a new Michael Andrews Bespoke location in Dupont Circle. When asked about his decision to open an outpost in DC, practicality came to mind, Andrews says. “Our decision to expand to Washington was an easy one to make; we already have dozens of clients in the area who travel to see us in New York,” he explains. The new store features top-of-the-line services as well as a swanky, fully stocked bar, making the shop a fun and luxe gentlemen’s experience. With the addition of this distinguished tailor, DC can expect to see a boost in sartorial style on the Hill. 1604 17th St. NW, 202-350-9001
