On Friday, September 30, join the Washington Nationals on the campaign trail with the first-ever Election Night at Nationals Park, as the team takes on the Miami Marlins at 7:05 p.m.
As part of the festivities, the first 25,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a Nationals political mascot figurine. Fans will get an opportunity to choose between one of 12,500 Democratic Party donkey figurines or one of 12,500 Republican Party elephant figurines, while supplies last.
The evening will feature a presidential theme from the time gates open at 4:30 p.m. through the end of the game, including music and video clips from famous presidential movies and television shows.
Entertainment before and during the game will include a performance by Max Impact—The United States Air Force Band—plus fun photo booths, impersonators of past presidents, themed food and drinks, and much more.
Election Night is just one of several theme games the Nationals are hosting during the 2016 season, with previous examples including ’80s Night, Ladies Night, Rat Pack Night, Star Wars Day, and Oktoberfest. The team also has more than a dozen giveaways each season, with items ranging from collectible bobbleheads to kids jerseys.
The final homestand in September will also include a Ben Revere Garden Gnome giveaway presented by Delta Air Lines, Hispanic Heritage Day presented by Budweiser, and Seniors Stroll the Bases and Pups in the Park presented by Budweiser.
As the home of family-friendly activity in the greater DC, Maryland, and Virginia region, the Nationals provide a world-class entertainment experience—plus a winning baseball team on the field, as well. Through early September, the Nationals were leading the National League East Division, poised to win the team’s third division title in the past five seasons.
