The new luxury Hermès pop-up shop, Hermèsmatic, is the place to go for a unique shopping experience. Exclusive to the area, this pop-up allows guests the chance to bring in an old Hermès scarf for a refreshing makeover.
The premier French fashion brand has been setting trends since its inception in 1837. Originally adopted as an ode to equestrian elegance, the silk scarf has evolved into a collection of over 2,000 designs and 75,000 uniquely crafted colors.
At the interactive pop-up shoppers will have the opportunity to revive their classic scarves through a complimentary, one-of-a-kind, dip-dye process that is executed by on-site experts. Visitors will also have the chance to peruse a collection of vintage Hermès scarves to purchase and dip-dye, or simply purchase one that has been dyed and is ready to wear. The actual process of dying requires the guest to choose from one of three colors--denim blue, fuchsia pink, or jungle green. The final result is a beautiful scarf with classic Hermès patterns.
Hermès deputy creative director for women’s wear, Bali Barret, notes, “The main part of the collection is inspired by the 2009 Hermès theme, ‘L'échappée belle,’ which is all about escaping, discovering and traveling with the giant featherweight cashmere/silk stole folded in a silk pillow bag to travel all over the world.”
D.C. will be the second pop-up location following the first United States-based shop in New York. The pop-up has plans to continue its travels, with one set to open in Nashville this October. 929 H Street NW., CityCentreDC
Hermèsmatic will be open July 28 through August 5, 10 am through 7 pm.
