Anyone familiar with Lebron James' career trajectory knows he has his oversize hands full. By all accounts, the Olympian, two-time NBA MVP and perennial All-Star, whose departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers and arrival in Miami set the news media ablaze, should barely have time to breathe. Yet now he’s going to redecorate your home.

Home Court by LeBron James, a collection from American Signature, gives young people a taste of how it feels to be king. The Miami Heat’s newest powerhouse designed the furniture with his fashionable other half, longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson.

Offering a range of stylish and durable pieces, including dressers, beds and desks, it’s designed with a playful spirit and takes its cues from two very energetic sources—LeBron Jr., six, and Bryce Maximus, three, Savannah and LeBron’s two sons. “The inspiration for the line came from watching LeBron Jr. and Bryce playing in their own bedroom and how much fun they have together,” says LeBron Sr. “The most important aspect of the line’s creation is the name, Home Court. Home is where you have everything you need, exactly how you like it, similar to having a homecourt advantage in basketball. We want this line to have everything that makes a child thrilled to be in his or her room.”

To get there, James relied on Brinson, his high school sweetheart. She saw the project through from its earliest days, designing with a keen mother’s eye. “I designed every piece for a different reason and purpose,” she says. “So I love each one.” (She does admit, however, that LeBron Jr. and Bryce are partial to one particular piece: “Beds, because they can jump on and off of them.”)

For American Signature, James proved the ideal sports figure to collaborate with—not only for his superstar status, but also because of his longstanding commitment to children’s causes. The LeBron James Family Foundation, established in 2004, is a groundbreaking organization that has a number of diverse initiatives to encourage physical fitness and community for disadvantaged youths and their families. His playground build initiative with State Farm Insurance has improved communities throughout the country. And his Meal & A Movie events, hosted in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company, allow underprivileged families to dine together and watch as-yet-unreleased family-friendly films. “Throughout his success, LeBron has remained committed to his values,” says American Signature COO Jonathan Schottenstein. “That’s what makes him an authentic brand for today’s consumer.”
